ARDA-Hawaii Gives First Annual "Timeshare with Aloha" Awards

The American Resort Development Association of Hawaii (ARDA-Hawaii) has announced the recipients of its first annual "Timeshare with Aloha" Awards.

One outstanding employee each from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Island of Hawaii was recognized and received a two-night stay at a Hawaii timeshare resort and $1,000 to spend during their vacation.

The nominations, which included submissions from supervisors and peers, were reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of leaders in government and in the travel and hospitality community. The judges evaluated the submissions based on the candidates' dedication at the workplace, relationship with coworkers, customer service and community stewardship.

ARDA-Hawaii's leadership was pleased to establish the Timeshare with Aloha Awards to showcase and reward committed industry professionals who make Hawaii a special place to visit. Though many vacation destinations offer sun, sand, and surf, Hawaii's warm and unique culture is what sets it apart.

"It was a significant challenge for our panel of judges to single out just four individuals among the many worthy nominees," said ARDA-Hawaii Chair Daniel Dinell, who is also the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Vice President for Oahu.

"The fact that these four timeshare professionals are recognized among their peers as consistently going above and beyond when it comes to sharing the spirit of aloha is truly a testament to how exceptional they are."

The vacation stays were donated by ARDA-Hawaii members Hilton Grand Vacations, Marriott Vacation Club, Starwood Vacation Ownership and Wyndham Vacation Resorts.

Recipients of the Timeshare with Aloha Awards included Julie Pavao, Executive Assistant, Starwood Vacation Ownership - Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, Kauai (see photo).

RCI Adds Transparency to their Timeshare Exchange Program

RCI, the global leader in timeshare exchange and one of the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands, has significantly enhanced its RCI® Weeks program to allow members to know the trading power value of their vacation interval once deposited with RCI.

For the first time in its 36-year history, RCI Weeks members are able to compare the trading power value of their deposited week to the trading power value of the timeshare they want to exchange into. Plus, they can combine deposited timeshare intervals, allowing them to transact into higher-valued vacations. And to provide even greater benefit, RCI will for the first time be providing its Weeks members with a “Deposit Credit” if the trading power value of their deposited interval is greater than the interval they have exchanged into.

“In the increasingly transparent online vacation planning world that we live in, this is something our members have been consistently asking for. It’s one of the most exciting things we’ve ever done for our members”, said Geoff Ballotti, CEO, RCI (shown in photo).

“Transparency is important because people want to have more control over how they trade their timeshare vacation for another vacation they’d like to take. From our customer service, marketing and technology teams – we’ve brought together our entire company to solve for our members’ request to give them what they want in terms of knowing the trading power value of their deposited timeshare week and what it will take to get them to where they want to vacation, allowing them access to vacations that they might not have been able to book in the past”.

RCI began educating members on these new developments on RCI.com and in the October edition of its Endless Vacation magazine, explaining how trading power transparency, deposit credits and combining deposited weeks will greatly assist them in their future vacation planning and provide them with more choice, flexibility and value in their future vacation planning.

These significant upgrades follow RCI’s continuous work to develop new innovations for its members that make vacation planning fun and easy.

Does Your Favorite Hotel Also Offer Timeshares?

Its vacation time and you’re about to undertake your planning process in the usual way. Pick a destination. Find a hotel. Book airfare. Done. But, did you know that your favorite hotel chain may also have timeshare rooms available? And, what’s different about these rooms is the extra space and amenities you get, at a rate that is probably half of what you typically pay for a standard hotel room. Why is this? Hotel resorts created timeshare rooms and vacation clubs for timeshare owners who want to stay in home-like accommodations with family amenities. These rooms can be located right in the hotel, or at a separate resort right next to the hotel and are available for rent by the public from the timeshare owners themselves. In doing this, you’ll save a lot of money on your next vacation, which is a big plus, and on top of that you’ll have great comforts of home with extra space, kitchens and washer/dryers too.

Let’s take a look at just some of the hotels that offer timeshare resorts. You’re sure to see some you recognize and most likely have stayed there before:

See all Marriott Timeshare Resorts.

  • Hilton
Hilton Hotels Corporation develops and operates timeshare resorts through the Hilton Grand Vacations Club. HGVClub offers their owners expanded exchange and travel benefits on a points-based system called ClubPoints. These points allow them to stay at a variety of participating Hilton HHonors hotels around the globe and enjoy other travel-related bonuses like discounts on cruises and airfare. See all Hilton Grand Vacations Club Timeshare Resorts.

  • Hyatt
The Hyatt Hotel offers timeshare properties under the Hyatt Vacation Club. Their resorts are known for having high-quality amenities in their locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The HVC gives their timeshare owners access to their collection of luxurious, boutique, timeshare resorts and hotel properties through a points-based program. See all Hyatt Vacation Club Timeshare Resorts.
