Bluegreen Corporation Sponsors American Red Cross Hero Event

Bluegreen Corporation, a leading vacation ownership marketing, sales and hospitality company, was a Super Hero Sponsor at the “Honoring the Hero in All of Us” dinner celebration benefitting the American Red Cross last week at the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park.

“Bluegreen is honored to continue their sponsorship of the American Red Cross Heroes Campaign,” said Ellen Devine, Executive Assistant to Bluegreen’s President and CEO.

“We’re proud of the relationship we have with the local Chapter of the American Red Cross, and strongly believe in supporting the communities in which we do business.”

Six Bluegreen associates attended the event, which included a silent auction and live auction. More than 150 guests attended, including SPN 106.3′s Joe Girvan, who is also a Major Gifts Officer for the American Red Cross, who emceed the event. Jason Alpert conducted the live auction.

Bluegreen Corporation had first-hand experience working with the American Red Cross when the Bluegreen resort Atlantic Palace in Atlantic City was severely damaged during Hurricane Sandy.

Bluegreen Vacations Partners With American Red Cross in Hurricane Sandy Storm Relief Efforts

Bluegreen Vacations, a leading provider of vacation experiences, will make a $5,000 corporate donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief to assist with care for those displaced by Hurricane Sandy, Bluegreen President and CEO John M. Maloney Jr. has announced.

In addition, the company will match personal donations by its associates made by November 30, 2012- dollar for dollar- up to $5,000.

A handful of resorts that are either owned by or affiliated with the vacation club experienced the wrath of Sandy first hand: The Soundings and The Breakers in Dennisport, MA, The Manhattan Club in New York City, Patrick Henry Square in Williamsburg, VA., Shenandoah Crossing in Gordonsville, VA., and Atlantic Palace in Atlantic City, NJ.

“Many Bluegreen associates in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast took great precautions before the storm to protect our resort owners and guests, even as they took steps to safeguard themselves and their loved ones,” Maloney said.

“They showed great care and compassion. Now it’s our opportunity—and responsibility—to show compassion.”

The American Red Cross has provided more than 23,000 overnight shelter stays since October 26, 2012, two days before Sandy made landfall. The storm has affected 60 million people across an area the Red Cross described as “about the size of Europe.”

Bluegreen Vacations hosts owners and guests at several resorts in the affected area, including Bluegreen at Atlantic Palace on the hard-hit Atlantic City, N.J., Boardwalk.

Bluegreen Completes Atlantic Palace Renovations

Bluegreen Corporation, "A leading provider of Colorful Places to Live and Play," has announced that renovations at its Atlantic City, New Jersey, resort, Atlantic Palace, have been completed, with the second phase of renovations just being finished this spring. The renovation of additional units was also approved by the Board of Directors, with benchmarks set for the fall and winter of 2011.

“Everyone at Bluegreen’s Atlantic Palace resort is extremely excited for the current and ongoing renovation program. Our 31-story resort offers the most spectacular views in all of Atlantic City and the renovations will only add to the amazing overall experience for our guests,” says James Badia, General Manager at Bluegreen at Atlantic Palace in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Renovations to 15 studio units have been completed so far with another 15 units near completion. There are 15 studio units, a two-bedroom unit and one studio deluxe unit with renovations scheduled to begin in the fall of 2011 with completion at the end of the year. An additional 15 studio units and two one-bedroom units will also be completed by spring of 2012.

The renovations at Bluegreen’s Atlantic Palace resort included new kitchens, cabinets, wood flooring and furniture, giving each unit a completely refreshed look and feel while still maintaining the distinct style of Atlantic City.
